Sunday, November 7th

CPRA AND CRA Reviews to be offered at Fall Meeting and we are excited to announce the opening of registration.

Live and in person sessions are back! You do not have to register for the regional meeting to attend either of these sessions at the Marriott Hotel & Golf Course at Champions Circle Ft. Worth, TX. However, since you will be there come join the Region V educational fun! Seating is limited, so register early.

We will be offering both CRA and CPRA on Sunday, November 7th 8:30am-5pm.

Below are descriptions of the NCURA Region V Workshops that will be offered at the Fall meeting in November.

Workshop #1

Title: ABCs of Pre-Award Administration

Description: A beginner/intermediate workshop that will explore the basics of pre-award research administration – from finding funding to non-financial post-award activities.

Presenters:

  • Emily Lacy – Associate Director, Office of Sponsored Projects (The University of Texas at Dallas)

Workshop #2

Title: Post Award 101 & 102”

Description: A beginner/intermediate course that will serve as a refresher course on all things post-award. This will be perfect for anyone who is just starting out in the post-award field, or wants to review hot topics!

Presenters:  

  • Megan Roth – Executive Director of Research (Abilene Christian University)
  • Kathryn King – Grant and Contract Manager of Post-Award, FRST (University of North Texas Health Science Center)
  • Angelo Chrisomalis – Executive Director, Research Administration (Baylor College of Medicine)

Workshop #3- Advanced (Presenters will be remote)

Title:Compliance Issues: Riding the Mustang to Win the Race”

Description:     This Workshop will corral and examine advanced compliance issues in research administration. It will wrangle topics such as the Revised Common Rule, Biospecimen Tissue Repositories, Misconduct in Science and Scholarship, Conflict of Interest and Commitment, and High Containment Facilities.
